QA Analyst
I had an initial phone screen, then a 45-minute call with the QA Manager. After that, there was a 3-hour in-person meeting with 8 people. I had to take time off work for it, but I didn't get the job because my SQL assessment score wasn't good enough. It felt like a lot of effort for nothing.
- Various technical questions concerning Linux and SQL, in the context of a manual QA position.
- General questions pertaining to the QA process.
Senior QA Engineer
This interview had 2 rounds. The first round was with the manager and lasted over an hour. The second round was much longer, almost 3.5 hours, and focused heavily on test plan management, SQL queries (including nested ones), and UI automation.
- Could you write a nested SQL query using the employee data?
- How would you approach test plan management?
- Can you explain some SQL queries?
Senior QA Engineer
The interview was scheduled for 90 mins. The first 30 mins was an introduction by HR about the position and expectations. They also asked about my current role and responsibilities. The next 30 mins was similar with the interviewer who was conducting the Technical L1. Two problems were given to solve on HackerRank. I assumed it was an interview where I needed to write custom code, but I was rejected because I took time to write my own logic instead of using existing logic like Collection.sort() to sort an element. Lastly, the HR did not respond regarding the interview result even after multiple follow-ups.
- Can you align all zeros to the end and non-zero elements to the beginning of a list?
- How would you merge two sorted lists into a single sorted list?
- Could you describe a negative scenario for testing a POST API request?
