I went to the ICE Pune hiring drive on Nov 22nd, which was a full day from 10 AM to 5:30 PM IST and had many evaluation rounds. It started with a coding round where we had to solve one out of four problems. Then there was a technical chat about Java, Selenium, Git, and CI/CD. The next round was different for people; some had questions about daily QA tasks and Agile, others had deep technical talks on API testing and coding. After that, a quick HR chat about usual stuff. A VP talked next about the job, what the team needs, why I want to join ICE, and if I'm okay with a 5-day office week. Even after these 5 rounds in one day, no one told us where we stood or what's next. About two weeks later, I was called for another technical chat about a project, lasted almost an hour. Still no word or feedback. A week after that, I was invited for yet another technical chat for a different project, about 45 minutes. Even after 7 rounds, still no clue about selection, what they expect, or the result. The interviewers were professional and the talks were good technically, but the lack of clear info, slow replies, and repeated technical tests without feedback made it confusing and a letdown. Better communication on results and expectations at each step would really improve things for candidates, especially after putting in so much time and effort. I still think ICE is a good company and learned a lot, but a more organized and open interview process would set expectations better for us.

The interview process took about a month. It kicked off with a recruiter call, followed by a phone interview with an engineer covering basic SQL and Java. Then came a face-to-face interview, scheduled for 4 hours but ended up being 6 hours long. Instead of a standard interview, it was really exhausting. They had me sit in a room while people kept coming in and out asking questions on the fly. They didn't even provide lunch even though it went longer than planned. No feedback was given after the interview. They mainly seemed interested in whether I was willing to work longer hours.

The first step was a virtual technical interview. It included questions about manual and automated software testing, specifically covering Java, Selenium, API Testing, Postman, and some AWS concepts.
