Vue.js Developer
The interview process involved completing a full Vue 3 application, which I had to submit via a public GitHub repository and deploy on my own domain. This project took about 30 hours to complete. After that, I had a technical interview with two managers/developers from Insider One. They asked about my approach to specific technologies and project management topics, such as design systems, CI/CD, and other things not really related to a Frontend Developer role. I was rejected a few days later with feedback that my 'proposed technical approach and final solution did not quite match our expectations.' Honestly, that feedback felt more like a slap in the face than actual constructive criticism. I expected more honesty, transparency, and respectful treatment from Insider One. Perhaps they should have shared their own approach to projects so I could have tailored my responses to their expectations, or I could have highlighted projects more similar to what they were looking for. They didn't share much about their project or how they work, and when I inquired, it seemed aligned with my past projects, making their 'feedback' questionable. Additionally, their English proficiency was quite poor, not just the accent but also incorrect word usage and grammar.
- Could you explain your experience with design systems, including any you've developed?
- What technologies have you used for unit and end-to-end testing, and how do you approach writing these tests?
- Tell me about your experience with CI/CD.
Enterprise Account Executive
Scheduling for the hiring process was really disorganized. After I spoke with the hiring manager, they just had me prepare and present a case study, which I put a lot of work into. The hiring manager was late again for this meeting, just like the first one. I waited in the virtual room for almost 10 minutes, and right when I was about to leave, the interview started. We had to dive straight into the case study presentation because there wasn't enough time for any intro or background. No time for feedback either. It's been three weeks since the interview, and I haven't heard anything. I decided to pull out of the process myself because of the lack of communication.
- Why do you want to work as an Enterprise Account Executive, and what is your strategic approach to this role?
Customer Success Manager
The whole thing took way longer than three months, with a bunch of last-minute reschedules and big waits between interviews. Everyone was cool and professional, but it took ages to hear back and the updates were all over the place. Get ready for surprise roleplays and quick thinking stuff — they really want to see how you handle pressure. They also dig into what you're missing or where your weak spots are, so be straight up and ready to talk about your own issues. They really care about self-awareness. The managers kept saying that working late and weird hours is normal, so you gotta be flexible. After the last interview, I tried to get an update, but I saw the job posted again before I got a polite but bland rejection email. I asked for feedback but, you know, crickets. Good parts: smart people, tough interviews. Bad parts: long process, tons of delays, no feedback, and a culture of long hours.
- What do you feel you are missing?
- Can you share an instance where you lost a renewal and explain the reasons behind it?
- Be ready for unexpected roleplay situations.
Customer Onboarding Manager
The interview process was a complete disaster. I got a rejection after the Director's interview. The first round was with HR and it was fine. Then, I was given a case study about a client issue during onboarding. In the third round, the Director's interview, I had to present my case study and convince them why I was the best fit and that I really wanted to work there. During my presentation, the Director asked for detailed explanations of my thought process, which made the conversation tense and negative. They also didn't allow me to ask my own questions. I was rejected.
- Can you tell me where your family currently resides?
- Describe a type of manager you would not be able to work with.
- What are the Key Performance Indicators for this position?
