I had a recruiter call first, and they were really nice. But then, the managers I interviewed with were not pleasant at all. I could tell pretty quickly that the company culture wasn't for me. They kept saying that Insider is a place with minimal benefits but a lot of work. They even suggested that because the company is growing, expect to do way more than what's asked. And they said it in a really weird, unwelcoming way. Before I heard back about not moving forward, I saw they reposted the job on LinkedIn, which felt super disrespectful to everyone who applied. Then, I got an automated email from the recruiter saying I didn't get the next stage, and they messed up my name, using someone else's. It was a letdown.

Had a selection day with about 15 candidates. We did a group discussion, a team task with a presentation, and an individual task. It was pretty chill with pizza and drinks afterwards. Then, I had an individual interview right after.

Case Group Presentation

The first part was a really cool case study that lasted from 10 am to 5 pm, which felt a bit too long. It was nice to see people of various ages, from new grads to those with over 10 years of experience, working together. We had lunch together and it felt competitive but friendly, as they want you to feel at home since you'll be spending so much time working if hired. The case interview featured a 'shareholder' talking about his life revolving solely around work, even expressing a dislike for national holidays. He gave a creative, albeit shocking, reason for working on holidays, suggesting that the Turkish nation worked hard to achieve those days, so we should work harder on them. The second interview was with a manager who immediately said, 'We're working too much!' They emphasize making you feel comfortable with their friendly staff because your entire world will be 'Insider' if you join. They're clearly worried about losing people due to high turnover, which is evident from the numerous job postings on LinkedIn, some of which seem fake. They aim to present themselves as a dream company like Google or Facebook, calling themselves a community. Despite potential negatives, attending a group interview is recommended because the process and lunch are enjoyable, and you meet intelligent people hoping to transition from top companies. While the interview makes you expect a McKinsey-level salary, the pay is actually quite low.
