Customer Success Manager
The whole thing took way longer than three months, with a bunch of last-minute reschedules and big waits between interviews. Everyone was cool and professional, but it took ages to hear back and the updates were all over the place. Get ready for surprise roleplays and quick thinking stuff — they really want to see how you handle pressure. They also dig into what you're missing or where your weak spots are, so be straight up and ready to talk about your own issues. They really care about self-awareness. The managers kept saying that working late and weird hours is normal, so you gotta be flexible. After the last interview, I tried to get an update, but I saw the job posted again before I got a polite but bland rejection email. I asked for feedback but, you know, crickets. Good parts: smart people, tough interviews. Bad parts: long process, tons of delays, no feedback, and a culture of long hours.
- What do you feel you are missing?
- Can you share an instance where you lost a renewal and explain the reasons behind it?
- Be ready for unexpected roleplay situations.
Customer Success Manager
The interview process started with a 40-minute HR phone interview covering past experiences, general questions about me, and my motivations. Next, I received a case study involving client data, requiring me to prepare and present as an insider customer success manager to a real insider customer success team, acting as a consultant for insider products and demonstrating product know-how. This presentation stage involved role-playing, with questions designed to challenge me and push me to handle client objections. They also emphasized the importance of including real industry benchmarks about data in the presentation. The third step involved another case study: watching an approximate 55-minute video of a real client-customer success meeting. I had to answer questions about how to improve the presentation or identify areas for improvement in the meeting, referencing specific timestamps, with answers limited to 200 words. I also had to record a video response to one question. Finally, I was invited to the office, which was the stage where I was rejected.
- Can you share a difficult client situation from your past role and the feedback your manager provided?
- What prompted your departure from your previous employment?
- In a client-customer success meeting scenario, how would you enhance your presentation or what aspects of the presented meeting could be improved?
Customer Success Manager
The recruiter was very unprofessional. I had to chase them to schedule the meeting and then again for next steps. The process wasn't clear, and interviews were rescheduled multiple times. The manager kept saying I'd have to 'start from scratch' and emphasized how hard it is to work at Insider, without asking about my experience or what I could contribute. There was a lot of miscommunication, and the second interview was a month after the first. A lot of time and effort was wasted, and the recruiter didn't answer my questions. Overall, a poor process!
