& Process

The interview process was very professional. The questions covered a range of complexities, suitable for a senior role. The interviewer was helpful if you got stuck and encouraged sharing your thought process. It was important to not just give the right answer but also explain the reasoning behind it, like why a function works a certain way. It was a good interview overall, but unfortunately, I didn't hear back from them after this.

It started with an HR call, about an hour or so, where they talked about the company and my background. About 15 minutes of that was in English. Then, there was a technical interview with someone from Globant's tech staff. It was a bit tough and over an hour long. It was mostly live code review with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS exercises, focusing on key concepts, even some old ones, so studying is key. They also asked about React, Git/GitHub, and agile methods, plus another 15+ minutes of English questions. I didn't pass because my English was B1, and they needed B2. I heard there's a long process after this to get assigned to a project, and then maybe a client fit interview if that happens.

The interview process with this company was unprofessional. I had an interview, and they initially said they would provide an update within a week. However, after three weeks, I received no communication. I then reached out to the HR representative at Globant in London (as this was formerly Vertic, now Globant GUT), but my follow-up email went unanswered. Subsequently, I contacted the manager I interviewed with, who also became unresponsive. I had to reach out again, at which point they informed me they had decided to proceed with other candidates. While I accept their decision, the lack of timely communication wasted my time and energy. There seemed to be poor coordination between their agency in CPH and the HR department in London. I had seen negative reviews previously and had hoped for a better experience, even if I wasn't selected for the role.

The whole thing took about 3 weeks. First, I had a quick chat with the recruiter to check experience and what I was looking for. Then they sent me a technical challenge to do in a week. After that, two engineers reviewed the challenge with me, followed by a system design interview where I had to design a scalable service. Lastly, I talked to the Engineering Manager about leadership, culture, and how they work. The interviews were straightforward and polite. The technical questions were tough but fair. I suggest brushing up on system design and always explaining your trade-offs.
