Behavioral Other

There were 2 interviews, and both were interesting experiences with different styles. It would have been great to have some preparation information. They were looking for a specific culture/personality, which wasn't made clear. I was disrupted a few times and really put on the spot. The job spec was very different from the actual role expectations. The second interview was much more pleasant but also very vague. Considering the time and effort involved, I wish they understood the impact of these situations on candidates and gave them a chance to understand the full role requirements.

Behavioral Other

The interview process for the Opex Manager role at Ferrero in 2024 was quite an experience. I left feeling more confident than ever that this wasn't the place for me. From the start, it was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I knew within 10 minutes that I couldn't work with the people in charge of hiring. The panel, which included the HR manager, seemed disinterested and rude. One interviewer was constantly rolling their eyes and looking at the ceiling while I spoke, as if I couldn't notice. That kind of disrespect says a lot. They made no effort to sell Ferrero as a good employer. Instead, they complained about how tough it is to recruit because of the proximity to Luxembourg and its better pay. This told me they don't value talent, don't expect to get the best, and won't pay for quality. They seemed annoyed to be there, lacking energy, curiosity, and professionalism, just a dismissive attitude matching negative online reviews. I used to be skeptical, but now I see they were generous. Thankfully, I found a much better job that respects employees and pays 30% more. So, thanks Ferrero, for showing me exactly what to avoid.

The point of an interview is to make sure the CV actually matches the person. The candidate shouldn't just 'read' their CV, because the recruiter has already done that. Instead, they should know how to 'sell' themselves, or rather, praise and value themselves by highlighting their professional background and talking about their experiences, which aren't always obvious from the CV.

The interview process at Ferrero usually involves a few steps: First, you apply by sending your resume and cover letter via their website or other recruiting platforms. Then, the HR team reviews applications to pick the most suitable candidates. Next, there's an initial phone call to discuss your experience and check your motivation. After that, you might have an in-person interview, which could involve multiple interviewers. This is where they dig deeper into your technical skills and soft skills. Depending on the role, you might also be asked to complete a skills test or a practical exercise. Finally, there's a last interview with managers or team leaders to see if you're a good cultural fit and what your expectations are. If you pass all these stages, you'll get a formal offer. Once you accept, the onboarding process begins.
