Human Resources
The first step was a video interview where I had to answer questions and submit them without talking to anyone. I didn't really like this because I couldn't ask my own questions to see if it was a good fit for me too. The questions were pretty basic, asking about my experience with things needed for the job. The last question was about salary expectations, and the range they gave was less than what was in the job description. The second round was a panel interview. They didn't offer much flexibility on timing, and it felt weird to go straight to a panel without talking to a recruiter first, since I had simple questions about the job (like being in the office, benefits) that I couldn't ask the hiring manager or in the panel. Honestly, it felt like they didn't respect my time and just assumed I wanted the job. It was six questions using the STAR method to show how I fit their company values. The questions were easy but didn't really show how my skills fit the role, which felt odd since I have work experience. One interviewer even said they hadn't read my resume and asked about something that was on it multiple times. I was totally over it by then but was told I'd hear back in about a week and a half. After two weeks, I hadn't heard anything, so I logged into the portal and withdrew my application because I had no interest anymore. Then, a few days later, I got an email saying I wasn't selected, even though I'd already withdrawn. Good luck to them finding someone who thinks this process is respectful.

Intern
I had one interview for this role. It was mostly about statistics and core data science concepts. They asked conceptual questions like explaining what a p-value is, how hypothesis testing is done, and how to understand statistical significance for business. It was more about the theory than doing actual coding. The whole interview was pretty much focused on basic statistics knowledge and analytical thinking, not really on my past project experience. It was just one round and they were clear about expecting foundational knowledge.
- Can you tell me what a P-value means in statistics?
Data Scientist
This hiring process was incredibly long, spanning three months from the first contact to the final outcome, which was ghosting. I got an initial email in April, then the interview invite in May, and the actual interview took place at the end of that month. They used the STAR method for behavioral questions, but during my part, an interviewer actually left when I wanted to ask questions. The really bad part was they said they'd get back to me in a month, but then I heard nothing. It took me emailing HR myself after another month to find out the results. It's wild how long they took to decide.
- Could you answer some basic questions about SQL?
- Do you have experience with pandas?
Data Analyst Intern
It was a behavioral interview with about 3-4 questions, lasting around 45 minutes. The interviewer was super friendly, and they seemed really keen on the company's work culture and DEI initiatives. I felt the interview went well and smoothly. They also mentioned that mentioning any contacts you have at the company could be helpful.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- Could you share an instance where your initial plan had to change?
- Tell me about a situation where you decided to take a risk.
