Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Exelon.
Intern
I had one interview for this role. It was mostly about statistics and core data science concepts. They asked conceptual questions like explaining what a p-value is, how hypothesis testing is done, and how to understand statistical significance for business. It was more about the theory than doing actual coding. The whole interview was pretty much focused on basic statistics knowledge and analytical thinking, not really on my past project experience. It was just one round and they were clear about expecting foundational knowledge.
- Can you tell me what a P-value means in statistics?
Intern
It was just behavioral questions. They wanted me to use the STAR method. I wasn't really ready since it was my first interview ever, but I've heard from others that if you prepare and practice, you can definitely get the offer.
- Can you share an instance where you collaborated with a diverse group of individuals?
Intern
The whole process took about a month from applying to getting the offer. It included two interviews where they asked normal behavioral questions about my experiences and why I was interested in the role. The first interview was with the direct manager and the second one was with someone more senior.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully resolved a problem?
