First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Exelon.
Software Engineer
I first spoke with them at the Hospitality Suite at SASE, then I had an onsite behavioural interview the next day. The interview was just basic STAR questions. They gave me an offer the day after.
- Can you describe a situation where you took the lead of a group?
Software Engineer
I applied online, and a few days later got a call for an on-site interview. I met with three people for a STAR interview process, with about 20 minutes for each person. The interview went pretty well from my perspective, though I think I might have messed up one response. They said I'd hear back within a week or two, but it's been a month and I still haven't gotten any email or call. I really wish they'd at least sent an email saying the process wouldn't move forward, like other big companies do through their online career status. Everyone I spoke with was great and polite, though. One last thing, I totally missed the small detail about bringing 4 copies of my resume, and I can't help but wonder if that's why I didn't get the job. The email before the interview did mention it, along with business attire.
- How did you handle a policy change?
Senior Software Engineer
I got a call from a recruiter about a sr. engineer position. I was pretty surprised since I was still in school finishing my Masters, but I decided to go for it. The first round was with the team manager and included both technical and behavioral questions. I passed that. About 3 weeks later, I was invited for an onsite interview, which was a 5-hour session with 4 senior engineers. One of them focused on behavioral questions, and the others were purely technical. This felt right for a senior role. I managed to answer about 50-60% of the questions; the rest were too specific to the job, and since I was still a student, I struggled with them. I didn't hear back for almost two months, and then I received an email saying they weren't interested in hiring me.
- Could you tell me about your understanding of harmonics and relay settings?
