Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Exelon.
Engineer
An HR person got in touch about 5 weeks after I applied. They wanted to know my salary expectations and set up an interview. I heard back with the results 4 weeks after the interview. The interview itself went for about an hour and I spoke with two hiring managers. We started with intros, then they asked me behavioral questions about core competencies, and I got to ask them some questions too. I thought the behavioral part was pretty strict and tough. They sent over the interview process details beforehand, which was nice. No technical questions were asked.
- Be ready to answer questions using the STAR method, so have specific situations in mind.
Engineer
The hiring process was quite long, taking about 3 weeks before I got the interview invite. After that, HR contacted me to extend an official offer, and then I received my offer via email. It was a pretty good experience overall. The interview questions followed the S.T.A.R. method and were introduced with Exelon's core values.
- Describe a situation where you fostered diversity and inclusion at work. What actions did you take, how did you implement them, and what were the results?
Engineer
We had a virtual pre-interview that included four recorded questions and three multiple-choice questions. You had to complete these by a deadline, but could do them whenever you wanted. The questions were mostly about behavior. It was a quick and easy experience.
- What's prompting your search for a new role?
- Could you describe your main duties in your current or last job?
- What draws you to Exelon?
