Systems Architect
I went through a 4-stage interview process for Systems Architect at Workforce, which has over 10,000 employees. The first three stages involved different interviewers (HR, hiring manager, and a director), and I made it to the final round. However, the whole experience was really disappointing, especially coming from a company that's a leader in workforce management software. A lot of things felt off: the interviews seemed disorganized. Even though there were multiple interviewers, none of them asked any deep technical questions, which was strange for a technical role. One person asked a super basic question like 'explain what happens when you click on google.com', which made me wonder if they really knew what the job was about or how to interview for it. After putting in a lot of time, I never got any feedback after the final interview. I even sent a follow-up email and got no response at all. Total silence. For a company of Workforce's size and reputation, I expected a lot more professionalism, better preparation, and more respect for my time. I wouldn't recommend applying here unless you're ready for a potentially frustrating and unprofessional experience.
- Can you discuss migrating applications to the cloud?
UX Product Designer Intern
The interview was pretty chill and I had a great time with the people there! It was just one interview with a panel of 3 designers. The hiring manager sent over an outline beforehand so I knew what to expect and could get ready. You'll need to present about 2 of your projects and be ready for follow-up questions on why you made certain design choices. They might also ask you about an app you enjoy using and why its user experience is good. If there's time left, they might hit you with a couple of easy behavioral questions.
- What types of projects are you hoping to work on?
- In what areas do you want to develop your design skills?
- Which apps do you find yourself enjoying, and can you talk about the great UX they offer?
Product Manager
The screening call was more formal than I expected. They didn't ask for a 'tell me about yourself' and jumped straight into job-specific behavioural questions, which caught me off guard. I was informed there might be up to two additional interview rounds, but then I got a rejection email. It felt rushed, and at times, it seemed like multiple questions were being asked simultaneously. I'm rating this negatively, not necessarily due to the interviewer, but because I didn't leave with a positive impression.
- Can you describe a project you were involved in that involved multiple departments?
- Are you currently interviewing with other companies?
- What skills do you consider essential for a product manager?
Software Developer
I really appreciated getting the chance to interview for the Software Developer role. The whole process felt pretty organized, and the interviewers did a great job making me feel comfortable. The technical part was tough but felt fair, letting me show off what I can do. I also liked the in-depth questions about my previous work and how it fits with what your team is aiming for. It would have been nice to get a better feel for the company vibe and chances to grow, though. A quick chat about career paths in the last round would have been super helpful. All in all, it was a good experience, and I'm excited about the possibility of joining the team!
