First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Costco Wholesale.
Food Service Assistant
It was a quick process, took like 2 days from start to finish. I went in person to the restaurant and talked to the manager. We chatted about when I can work, my previous jobs, and how I work with others and in hectic situations. It was a short, business-like chat, mainly about customer service and being dependable. They called the next day with an offer, and I said yes.

Software Engineer
I had one of the worst interview experiences of my career with Costco GCC. After 5 rounds of interviews, all marked successful, I received a selection confirmation email and was asked to submit documents. Shockingly, after document collection, Costco GCC backed out without explanation. This is not just unprofessional — it shows zero integrity, zero accountability, and zero respect for candidates’ time and effort. An organization that cannot honor its own written confirmation clearly has no values and no hiring discipline. If this is how they treat candidates before joining, imagine the instability after joining. Choose this place only if you are comfortable being dropped anytime without accountability. Broken process. Broken trust. No ethics. Avoid if you value professionalism and job security.

Receiving Clerk
I applied online and got a call the next Saturday from a number that seemed like spam, but it was Costco calling for an interview. I called back right away and left a message. The manager called back Monday and I set up an interview for the next week. I didn't get an email confirmation, and was told it was part-time, 36 hours. The interview itself was in a warehouse district. I found the place, but missed the small sign on the door. Inside, the receptionist ignored me for a couple of minutes before leading me to a conference room. I waited about 10-15 minutes, then a guy came in and read from a script. Another guy came in later, sat down, and didn't acknowledge me at all. I only stayed because I've wanted to work at Costco for a while.

Wholesale Assistant
I was left waiting for 45 minutes near the bathrooms. Then, the manager seemed unprepared and had a colleague and a security manager conduct the interview instead. They didn't have my resume and she sounded uninterested. She even asked if I could handle the physical aspects of the job, like pushing carts outside.

- How would you handle a difficult customer?
- Do you feel you're suited for this position?
