First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Conagra Brands.
Financial Analyst
First, there was an initial phone screen, followed by two standard behavioral interview rounds. One of these rounds was with the hiring manager, and the other involved the manager along with several cross-functional managers. The questions were pretty standard, with only a few basic CPG finance questions.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
Brand Director
This was a super frustrating interview experience. I got contacted with less than 24 hours notice for an initial HR phone screen. The recruiter sounded passive aggressive and mentioned they were looking for specific industry experience (which I don't have, so why reach out?), wouldn't tell me the brands, and then asked if I'd be interested in a lower-level position. It was a bad experience and made me think less of the company. I found out weeks later via email that I wasn't moving forward.
- Can you introduce yourself and highlight your most relevant experience for this position?
Finance
I applied and heard back in a few days. The interview process involved 3 interviews: first a 30 min phone call with a recruiter, then a 30 min phone call with the hiring manager, and finally a 3 hour panel interview with 5 interviewers. The interviews were mostly behavioral, which is typical for entry-level positions. I would have preferred to spend more time discussing my resume, relevant experience, skills, tactical questions, or a case study. I felt like I was asked the same questions multiple times, just worded differently. The interviewers were friendly and answered my questions well. I didn't get much feedback after they got back to me. The reason they gave for not offering me the job was something I had already discussed in the first two interviews, so I'm not sure why I advanced to the final round if they were seeking someone with more experience in that specific area.
- Can you tell me about your experience at _?
- What makes you interested in Conagra?
- Have you managed people before?
Project Engineer
I had issues with the online application, so I used the contact form to get it fixed before I could apply. Then, I had a phone screen with both HR and management within two days. The next week, I had an on-site interview which included a tour and meetings with four other people. I was told I'd hear back by the end of that week, but I didn't, even after following up. About a week after the interview, I found out I wasn't selected. It felt like they weren't sure what they were looking for in this role, and the job description didn't really mention the weekend and holiday availability required, which the HR rep did explain during the phone screen.
- Can you explain the difference between an expense and capital?
- How would you handle working with or managing a challenging contractor?
