I met with ConAgra recruiters at a career fair in fall 2010. The next day I had an interview that lasted about an hour, and I got really good feedback. Three days later, the recruiter called and said they were impressed and intended to offer me a position. Six months passed with almost no contact, then I had a weird phone interview where we talked about driving in Omaha and football trivia. My final phone interview was in March and seemed to go really well. I was told I'd hear back in 5 days, but it took about 10 days. The original recruiter called and said they were impressed but thought my entrepreneurship passion was too strong for the company. I was shocked to be turned down after six months of positive feedback and a promised offer. I found the whole experience unprofessional. The communication was slow, there were false promises, and the phone interviewer seemed more interested in someone who could make him look good. The recruiter from the career fair seemed genuine, but I suspect company communication issues, as mentioned in other reviews, caused the long process.

The interview had three interviewers in three different rooms. Two were IT managers who asked about knowledge and experience. One was an HR rep. They asked a lot of basic questions about teamwork and time management. Nothing too surprising or hard. Everyone was nice and professional. It’s a good idea to know about ConAgra’s brands and maybe have a favorite.
