Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Conagra Brands.

A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and I got through the first two rounds. The hiring manager was great and moved me to the next stage. I was told that the panel interview would take some time to set up because people were off for the holidays. After two weeks of no contact, I followed up and was told they were still putting the panel together. The recruiter said I'd be updated on next steps. The holidays passed and I didn't hear anything until this morning (Saturday) when I got an automated rejection. I was surprised because I waited patiently and then got ghosted by an automated email. It felt unprofessional for a company like ConAgra brands to give candidates the impression they are moving forward if there are no plans to schedule the next interviews. This experience changed my view of the company and their hiring.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered a challenge during a project and explain how you managed it?

I interviewed at my college at the time. I spoke one on one with three different people. They all seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and answered my questions well. The conversation flowed easily, making the process straightforward. It was my first professional job interview, and I left feeling positive and glad I applied. After those three interviews, I was invited back to the company for another interview with a manager. This was also quite formal, but the process remained easy.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated leadership?
- Describe a challenging situation and your approach to resolving it.

It was a pretty thorough interview process with several steps before they gave me the offer. We started with a phone call about general stuff with the hiring manager. Then, I had a second phone interview with the HR director. After that, it moved onsite for a technical interview with the hiring manager, followed by another technical interview with a different technical team. The next step was an onsite managerial interview with the Director who is above my hiring manager. The very last step was a phone interview, mostly because the hiring manager and the Director had both changed by that point.
- Are there any general questions you'd like to ask about the position?
- Did you have any specific questions about the role or the company?
