Solution Engineer
Started with a manager round with behavioral questions first, then technical ones. No salary info or role details were discussed. Following that were two technical rounds focused on coding and system design. The first round interviewer didn't show up. The second round was with a manager about implementing a design system. It ended abruptly with the manager suggesting more design skill development before reconsideration. The interviewer was impatient and communicated poorly, showing little respect for candidate time and effort. Would advise avoiding if other options exist.

Engagement Manager
So the interview process started with a phone screen, then there was a writing assignment. After that, I had a technical interview where we focused on Cloud Infrastructure and AI/ML Applications. Then, a Project Management Interview focusing on tools and agile workflows. Next, a Case Study Interview where I had to brainstorm through a real-world problem and explain how AI/ML could be used to help. Finally, there was a final round.
- Can you explain what Kubernetes is and its relationship with Docker?
Senior Director, Strategic Solutions
After applying for the job, I was initially told it was actually a sales role and not a Director position. I decided to proceed, thinking I could eventually move into a senior role after proving myself in sales within the Air Force market. The next step was a two-page paper on introducing AI/ML applications into an industry. After submitting the paper, I had three back-to-back virtual interviews where they repeatedly asked about my background and work history. Each interviewer also noted a company disconnect between corporate leadership expectations and the reality of meeting quarterly sales goals given the federal government acquisition cycle. I also noticed that each person I spoke with had less tenure at 3C AI than I've had at any of my previous employers, with the longest-tenured person (3 years) considered a company veteran. Ultimately, I was rejected via an auto-generated email after these four interviews, which seemed to go well and where I received no indication I wasn't a good fit. There was no feedback provided, nor a way to contact the interviewers. I suspect they used the interviews to gather intelligence on AI applications in the defense sector, which felt disingenuous and like a waste of time. I should have stopped the process when they revealed it was a sales job after advertising it as a Director position.
- Tell me again about your work history.
- Why would you be interested in this position, given that you have led two companies?
- Can you write about where you could introduce AI/ML applications into an industry of your choosing?
Account Executive
This was a complicated interview process. The external sourcing company's recruiters were okay, but there were many changes once I was ready to meet with someone. Fortunately, they did show up, which means my homework assignment met expectations. Doing an assignment is a lame way to get your go-to-market strategy. With all the Ivy League people you hire, why doesn't someone put together your go-to-market strategy instead of wasting perspective interviewers' time? I had a gut feeling it was a squirly thing to ask for, and I was right. The interviewers were subpar, overworked from interviewing candidates, so they weren't that great. Peer interviews will exceed expectations as they are on the front lines and have real input into the role. C3 doesn't know who their ideal hire looks like; they hire someone with an inclination of success and then follow that as their hiring model. Currently, it's young, Ivy Leaguers, or engineers they plan on overworking to death while they seek revenue. I'm not sure where the product is, but I was willing to give this a go because I knew I could help this company with its customers.
