First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at C3 AI.
Machine Learning Engineer
The interview process started with a hiring manager interview, followed by a 3-hour technical assessment. This technical part included two coding interviews and one database schema design interview. They then invited me for an onsite interview, which I declined. The people working there seemed nice, but one interviewer mentioned potential team changes due to shifting company priorities, which was a concern for me.
- Could you solve the lowest common ancestor problem?
- How would you approach a sliding window problem on LeetCode?
- Design a database schema for a library system.
Machine Learning Engineer Intern
Submitted my application via Indeed, including a cover letter. Then, I completed a coding test and answered some basic ML-related questions. The ML and deep learning questions weren't too tough, but the coding test was on the challenging side.
- The coding question was about medium-hard difficulty.
Machine Learning Engineer
Got a mail with a hackerrank coding challenge. It had 3 leetcode-style problems (I'd say 1 easy and 2 medium) plus a multiple-choice section with lots of machine learning questions.
- What metric is used for building decision trees?
- Can you explain the difference between independent and uncorrelated variables?
