First, they looked at my resume and then we talked about my past projects and future expectations, my current roles and my technical knowledge. They gave me scenarios of real-life situations and checked my reactions and solutions to issues. The HR himself was confused about the interview time, he scheduled the meeting saying the time was in my local timezone, then I received a reminder to show up at a different time. The local employee interviewer looked like he was going to fall asleep while I talked about my experience. The HR sent the next calendar schedule but did not key it in because the entire environment felt too stressful. HR did not follow up.

Coding System Design Behavioral

The interview process felt pretty similar to MAANG interviews. It had coding interviews and a system design interview as Phase 1. Phase 2 is apparently a meeting with the executive who makes the financial decisions. Just a heads up, they sometimes change the schedule last minute, like the day before, so be ready for that. I rated it negatively mainly because of the System Design Interview with a Senior FDE. I mean, the managers there probably have like 4 years of experience, maybe 2 as an individual contributor and 2 as a manager. How many people have they really helped advance their careers in that time? It felt more like a direct interrogation than a discussion. At MAANG, a senior manager usually has 8-10 years of experience and has helped a lot of people develop their careers. It's an interview, sure, but they should also be guiding it better. This lack of experience showed when they asked me what I was doing, even though my resume clearly stated I was on medical leave. That's basically asking for medical information, which is illegal under the ADA. I mean, if I had cancer and was undergoing treatment, I wouldn't have to disclose that.

Coding System Design Behavioral

It was a pretty standard process. First, I had a Hackerrank OA, then a hiring manager round. After that, there was a Leetcode style round and a system design round. The final step was a behavioral round. Even though all the feedback was positive, the manager called me after the last round to say they decided to go in a different direction, and he couldn't give me any specific feedback.
