Behavioral Presentation

I interviewed a few years back, maybe 2019/2020, and the company's reviews were super high, like 4.8, but now they're down to 3.3. Something must have changed, maybe they stopped curating reviews, but it sounds like the culture isn't great now. Here’s what happened in my interview. First, I had a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. It was pretty standard, and then he asked me to prepare and deliver a presentation at their office. The assignment was to present on an industry use case I picked. I did my best, presented it at their office, and the whole time the hiring manager was on his phone in the back, barely looking up. It felt rude, even if my presentation wasn't amazing. After that, I had some one-on-one interviews. One interviewer kept getting distracted, watching someone walk by outside. Near the end, she mentioned I'd meet the CEO if it moved forward, and noted the CEO had walked by a few times during our chat. This felt weird and confirmed what I'd read about the company being toxic and having a cult-like, kiss-up culture. The lobby was also full of CEO pictures, and you could link to his book on their website. All of this gave me bad vibes and confirmed the toxic culture. I didn't get an offer, and honestly, I didn't follow up to show I was still interested.

I recently interviewed at C3IoT for an Associate Product Manager position. I was really excited and did a lot of research. The interview was supposed to be 30 minutes over Skype, but the interviewer was 20 minutes late and said we only had 10 minutes. It felt like they might have already picked someone and this was just a formality. The interviewer spent about 2 minutes talking about the company and the role. Then they asked why I wanted to join C3IoT and why this role. I answered, and then they asked about a use case from a 2014 project, which I couldn't recall. Time was up, and they had to leave. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get the job, but it was disappointing to only get 10 minutes. I had prepared a lot, learning frameworks and about the company, but it felt like it was all for nothing. It was an associate-level role, but it seemed like they expected a lot of experience. I didn't lie on my resume, so I figured they might be interested in other skills, but it ended up being a waste of time. I'm a big admirer of Thomas Siebel and his mission, so I was genuinely interested, but the recruitment team and interviewer were disappointing. I hope future interviewees get enough time or another slot if the interviewer is busy.

The interview process started with a Skype call with a product manager. This was followed by a technical test where I had to write a 4-page technical product spec. Then, there were four 30-minute interviews, all with product managers. After that, I had another four 45-minute interviews, also with PMs. The final round was an interview with the CEO.
