First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whatnot.
Customer Support Agent
The interview journey had about six distinct phases. First, I connected with the agency recruiter who found me on LinkedIn, and then a recruiter from Whatnot. After that, there was a take-home test that was pretty easy and checked my technical abilities and how I think strategically. The next step was a chat with a department manager about my past work. Then, I had another meeting with a different department head to talk about the company's values. They also checked my references, and after all that, I got the job offer. The whole thing took less than two weeks. Everyone I talked to was super nice and encouraging, making it easy to go through the steps. Even though it was a few steps, it felt right to make sure I understood the job and the company well.

Customer Experience Agent
I recently went through the interview process for a Customer Experience role and honestly it was a great experience. It was structured and detailed, but also very clear at every stage. I always knew what to expect next. Everyone I spoke with was professional, calm and really knew what they were doing. The conversations felt real and thoughtful, not just standard interview questions. I genuinely felt that the team cares about who they hire. Big thanks to Hannah for all the support and communication throughout the process, and thank you to everyone I spoke with along the way. I’m really glad I’ll be joining the team and I’m super motivated to get started.

Training Program Manager
I was asked to do an initial screen with the recruiter. I thought it would be a video call, but it turned out to be a recorded phone call instead. This really annoyed me and caught me off guard because I was talking to a blank screen. I couldn't see their expressions, and I didn't know if the recruiter was even paying attention to what I was saying. It felt really impersonal and also unprofessional since the recruiter was reading everything from a script. It was a pretty bad initial screening, and I'm not sure I would have wanted to continue.
- Can you tell me about your experience and background, and why you chose Whatnot?

- Could you discuss a training program that you implemented?
Account Executive
The interview process was pretty straightforward, but took longer than I expected. It started with a recruiter screen, then a manager interview. After that, I had to submit a case study with a video, which was quite involved (mine was 6 pages and took me several days). This was followed by an interview to review the case study, which included a mock call. Then came a behavioral interview, and finally, a wrap-up interview with a VP. Everyone I met was really nice and helpful. Having platform knowledge and experience is definitely a big plus. It's also clear they're looking for a very specific type of person, as this isn't your standard AE job. They're in the process of building out their sales team and still have some kinks to work out.
