First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whatnot.
Account Executive
The process was super smooth and felt really thorough, like they really had my back the whole time. It started with a recruiter call, then a first interview, followed by a take-home assignment. After that, there was a sales role play and a behavioral interview, and finally one last interview. Seriously, everyone I met was awesome to talk to, and I'm so hyped to join this team – they seem really solid.

Account Executive
The interview process was pretty straightforward, but took longer than I expected. It started with a recruiter screen, then a manager interview. After that, I had to submit a case study with a video, which was quite involved (mine was 6 pages and took me several days). This was followed by an interview to review the case study, which included a mock call. Then came a behavioral interview, and finally, a wrap-up interview with a VP. Everyone I met was really nice and helpful. Having platform knowledge and experience is definitely a big plus. It's also clear they're looking for a very specific type of person, as this isn't your standard AE job. They're in the process of building out their sales team and still have some kinks to work out.
- Can you pitch any product, service, or app to me in under a minute?
- Tell me about a time you went above and beyond your defined role to complete a task.
- What's one idea you have for improving our app?
Account Executive
The recruiter really laid out the interview process, and they were super helpful, even texting feedback after each round. It's clear they're using a FAANG-like interview structure. You'll get a mix of questions about the role and behavioral questions that tie back to their core values. The case study project is ridiculously long. They say it'll be useful once you're in the role, but there's no guarantee the work will pay off since you might not even get another interview after submitting it, and there are still two more rounds after that. I went through all five rounds, including the case study, but didn't get the job. After that, just a standard email saying thanks for my time, no specific feedback. My advice: don't do this work unless you're absolutely set on this specific role.
- What improvements would you propose for the app after using it?
