First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verkada.
Software Engineer
The interviewer was 9 minutes late. I was told the interview would be one leet code coding problem, a small system design, and then some other questions. I worked on the coding problem and got a working solution. With about 21 minutes left in the hour, the interviewer ended the interview abruptly, asking if I had any questions, instead of asking the system design question. While I understand interviewers might have expectations even with a working solution, the interview format should be followed, including the system design part. Changing the format midway seems arrogant. While the decision to move forward or make an offer is yours, a fairer process would be appreciated.
- A LeetCode medium difficulty problem was asked.
Channel Manager
Verkada's interview process is pretty smooth and easy to follow. It usually starts with a chat with the recruiter, then there are some technical and behavioural interviews. They feel more like a discussion than a test. The people interviewing are good, they reply fast, and seem really interested in what you've done and if you'd fit in. They keep you updated and are helpful, which makes it a good experience overall.
- Have you previously worked in a sales quoting capacity?
Channel Sales Manager
Applied online and got an intro call with a recruiter, then interviews with the hiring manager and another sales leader, all pretty fast. Then I had to prep a presentation about my top channel partner target in the region, scheduled for over a week out. But less than 24 hours before, the recruiter called to say they went with an internal person and canceled my presentation. Felt really unprofessional after all the prep work, wish they told me sooner.
- What is your approach to managing channel conflict?
Channel Marketing Manager
The whole thing took about four weeks, and I really liked how detailed it was. The recruiter kept in touch—not just for updates, but to make sure I was still good and wanted to keep going. First up: A screening call with the recruiter. It was more than just basic questions, she really knew her stuff. Next: An interview with the hiring manager. Then: A chat with the sales leader I'd be working with. After that: An interview with the CMO. Finally: Reference checks. I loved everyone I met, which made me even more excited about possibly working at Verkada. It shows how much they care about hiring the right people and making sure everyone fits the culture and team, which is key for lasting success.
- Can you tell me how you determine the success of a campaign?
- Could you discuss a campaign that was successful and one that wasn't, and what you learned from each experience?
