Account Executive
I applied online and Chelsea Randel (Sr. Sales Recruiter) reached out the day after. We scheduled an exploratory call, and when I needed to reschedule, Chelsea was super accommodating and nice about it, which was great. After that, I had a 30-minute chat with a Sales Development Manager. Chelsea joined for the first few minutes to kick things off and then passed the Zoom over. From there, I advanced to the final round with the Tampa Senior Director of Sales, the Tampa Sales Development Manager, and the Head of the AAE Program. Everyone I talked to was clearly driven and motivated, they welcomed my questions, and gave me a genuine insight into the role, covering both the difficulties and the chances for growth. Chelsea was the driving force throughout the entire process, and I'm thankful for her guidance. She kept in touch after every interview and helped me gear up for the next one, making me feel ready all the way. Verkada’s recruiting team is amazing. They’re organized, helpful, and truly dedicated to the process.
- Can you tell me about your most significant achievements?
Account Executive
It was a pretty standard interview process. First, a 30-minute call with the recruiter to check if I was a good fit. Then, a 30-minute Zoom interview with an RSM. For the final stage, I flew to Phoenix and interviewed with four more RSMs and the Sales Director. You need to come prepared with several full sales cycle stories, from prospecting all the way to closing, and be ready to talk about the details. They also check references and go over sales quotas and past attainment with a data collector. It wasn't as scary as it sounds. The whole thing took about six weeks, and I got an offer. The recruiter was super helpful, giving clear instructions, and was a big reason I accepted. Shout out to Garrett!
- Can you walk me through a complete sales cycle, from initial contact with a prospect to closing the deal?
Enterprise Account Executive
My interview with Verkada was quite an experience. The recruiter seemed more interested in talking about their weekend than the interview itself. The hiring manager was a total time-waster; despite my decade of sales experience and a track record of exceeding expectations, I was met with repetitive, basic questions that showed they hadn't prepared or understood my background. Their condescending attitude was infuriating and showed zero respect for my experience. If this is how they treat candidates, I can only imagine how they treat customers. I'll be avoiding them.
- Can you share your quota attainment and performance figures for the last five fiscal years?
