The interview process was straightforward and seamless. I got an email with a link to pick a time, and the interview was conducted via Microsoft Teams. During the interview, they went over the four-week paid training, the hourly and weekly pay schedule, and the expected working hours. They explained clearly what to anticipate during the training and once I started the job.

The hiring process started off pretty quick and organized. There were five stages total, and I made it to the fourth. Most of the time, HR was easy to get in touch with and kept me in the loop. But after my last interview, I emailed to check on my application status and just... nothing. No reply at all, no updates, no real ending. It was a bummer because I'd seen similar things in other reviews, so experiencing it myself was disappointing. Being left hanging without any feedback or final word after several interviews and a test just didn't feel right, especially after putting in the effort. At the very least, people deserve to know if they got the job or not. During the interviews, a few managers kept talking about expecting people to work past 5 PM and to really 'own' their work. While dedication is key, it felt a bit off considering the salary they mentioned, around €32k a year, which is pretty low for Paris. The vibe felt more like a US company culture than a French one, and honestly, the talk about working extra hours made me worry about work-life balance.

I went through the interview for a Machine Learning Researcher role focused on STT, NMT, and TTS. It started with a recruiter call (30 mins), then a technical interview with team members (1 hour), followed by a deep technical chat with the senior tech lead (1-2 hours). The good stuff was that the technical interviews were pretty interesting and covered a lot. Also, one of the technical folks knew their stuff and asked good questions about new ML tech. The downside was the communication timeline, which was really slow, taking over 3 weeks to hear back after the last interview. I had to chase them via email to get the final decision, and the long silence made things uncertain. My advice: the tech team is solid, but brace yourself for long waits and little communication. If timing is a big deal, make sure to set expectations early.

So I've actually interviewed for two jobs here in the last four months, and I'm still technically in the running for both. For the first one, I got all the way to the final round after doing an assessment, three virtual interviews, and one in-person interview, and then I was ghosted. The second job, I made it to the second round and then ghosted again. I'm not really sure what's going on with this company, but it seems really disorganized. I feel completely disrespected, though maybe that's just how interviewing is these days? Anyway, it's pretty bad.
