The interview process was straightforward and seamless. I got an email with a link to pick a time, and the interview was conducted via Microsoft Teams. During the interview, they went over the four-week paid training, the hourly and weekly pay schedule, and the expected working hours. They explained clearly what to anticipate during the training and once I started the job.

Technical Other

Several rounds of interviews and tests. The whole process took a long time. The translation test was technical and you have to do two translation tests on on site, one offline. The interview took about 0.5 - 1 hours each time.

I applied to be a freelance subtitler and had to do an unpaid test that required some prep work. After passing, there was a lot of paperwork, and the project was supposed to start a few weeks later. I was also given an additional compulsory training that took over 4 hours, all unpaid. When I followed up after more than three weeks, my contact at Transperfect, who had managed my onboarding, said his job was just to get me started and that was it. I never heard from a PM there again. I won't work with them again.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Unpaid subtitling test required preparation and study.
  • Training was needed for the test.
  • An additional training was required for the work itself, and it was unpaid.
