Intern
She called me, confirmed I could hear her well, and then we started talking. The interview itself was super relaxed, the interviewer was very understanding, questions were direct and clear. She was very friendly and attentive. She answered my questions clearly and asked more than once if I had any other questions.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your background?
Intern
Applied via LinkedIn for a translation project management internship. Took about three weeks for a recruiter to email and set up an interview. The actual interview was a short 15min Skype audio call where they asked one question and we talked about the internship. Just a heads up, applying here can be slow, they often reply late and only on Sundays. Also, you have to draft the internship agreement yourself, which is a pain if your university doesn't normally do that. My recruiter actually forgot about our interview and I had to chase them to reschedule, which they apologized for during the call, but it wasn't a great start. They make it seem like you're basically in if your university signs off on the agreement, but that's not the real deal. The main thing that decides if you get the internship is a two-hour proofreading test they don't mention anywhere. If you don't pass, no internship. They call it 'assessing attention to detail,' but they never tell you about it upfront. I only found out when I asked about the internship agreement. The test has two parts: comparing two English docs to find 50 errors, and then finding 25 errors in a Swedish to English translation.
- What makes you think you'd be a good fit for this internship?
- Is the 400€ compensation offered sufficient for you?
- Is this internship required for your studies or is it voluntary?
Internship
I had my first interview in February, then spent the next two months being passed around different departments in the Spanish offices and eventually got rejected twice for not being a native Spanish speaker, which was something clear from the outset and on my CV. There was a real lack of communication and unclear responses, and I had to chase everything up! The last thing I heard from the company was that they'd continue looking for a role for me, but that was over two months ago and I've heard nothing since. I've since found an internship somewhere else.
- What is your understanding of our company?
