Flight Attendant
I’m very grateful for the opportunity to interview at headquarters and for the experience overall, even with a TBNT outcome. I learned a lot and appreciate the time that went into coordinating the event. I do want to share some constructive feedback for the inflight recruiting team. Southwest has a reputation in the flight attendant community for warm, friendly, conversation-style interviews, and candidates come in expecting to feel welcomed and treated fairly. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. My interview felt tense and very serious, which caught me off guard and increased my anxiety, making it harder to fully show myself. I was also disappointed to learn that candidates were asked very different interview questions. Some questions allowed people to open up and showcase their personality, while others felt more rigid and interrogation like. At minimum, I believe all interviewers should be required to ask the same core questions so every candidate is given the same chance. As a company that values inclusion, authenticity, and diversity, I believe greater consistency in both interview questions and interview environment would greatly improve the candidate experience, especially for neurodivergent applicants. I love Southwest and plan to apply again in the future, and I hope this feedback can help strengthen an already respected hiring process.

I got an email from a recruiter in September 2025 about a job. I thought it went well and they said I'd hear back. Then on October 8, 2025, I got another email saying I was still being considered and would hear more when the job was officially created. I replied to say I was still interested. I noticed the email was sent to me but also to someone else, and the recruiter said it was a glitch. A few weeks went by, and I emailed on November 8, 2025, to check in, but then got ghosted. I kept checking their careers page and saw the same position listed, so I applied again and followed up with the recruiter. Still no response. It felt unprofessional, especially since I know a lot of people apply, and a simple courtesy reply would have been appreciated.

It was great! They had music and snacks. Senior flight attendants came in looking sharp in uniform to share encouraging advice. We had an info session, then a Q&A to clear up any confusion. We were called back one by one. It’s first come, first serve based on sign-in, but they also factored in your flight times. So, if you had an early flight, you’d likely be called back soon. And if you were local like me, you’d go a bit later. Use that time to support each other, calm your nerves, and wish everyone luck. Go in smiling and be your happiest self! You can do it!!

Flight Attendant
The day kicked off at Southwest’s headquarters, where we were greeted in a big lobby with a lively, energetic performance to get everyone pumped and feeling good. It was super upbeat and friendly right away—they really made you feel welcome. Then, we moved to a conference room for a group presentation where they shared info about the company, the job, and what to expect. After that, people were called out one by one for their own interviews. Two Southwest employees conducted the interview. They were really nice and welcoming. The interview felt structured but also like a normal chat. They asked a few questions, and it moved pretty quickly and kept you engaged—not too nerve-wracking. I got the job right then and there! Then I did the Physical Performance Standards Test (PPST), passed my physical, and even took some fun photos with props. Afterward, I went back to the airport and flew home. Later, I got the details for fingerprinting, drug/alcohol tests, and training dates.
