First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southwest Airlines.
Analyst
I got an email from a recruiter in September 2025 about a job. I thought it went well and they said I'd hear back. Then on October 8, 2025, I got another email saying I was still being considered and would hear more when the job was officially created. I replied to say I was still interested. I noticed the email was sent to me but also to someone else, and the recruiter said it was a glitch. A few weeks went by, and I emailed on November 8, 2025, to check in, but then got ghosted. I kept checking their careers page and saw the same position listed, so I applied again and followed up with the recruiter. Still no response. It felt unprofessional, especially since I know a lot of people apply, and a simple courtesy reply would have been appreciated.

Performance Analyst
I had a single in-person interview round. It was purely behavioral questions with a panel including HR, the Hiring Manager, and a Manager from another team. I got an email from SWA to set up the interview on their calendar and the HR guided me to the interview area on the day. It started relaxed with introductions from the panel and me, then we went into a series of behavioral questions.

The interview process was super fast and simple. I put in my application online and about a week later, a recruiter called me for a phone screen. After that call, another week went by and then I got an email saying I made it to the in-person interview and that I could pick the date and time that worked best for me. The recruiter met me and took me to a room for a panel interview. Everyone was really nice and it felt like we were just chatting about what I enjoy doing. I got an offer two days after, but I turned it down because of how far it was and the hours they needed. Southwest has always been a company I wanted to work for, so I'm bummed it didn't work out. They seem like a great company.
