The interview itself was quite easy and the people there were really nice. They mainly asked about why I wanted to join Screwfix and what good customer service involves. About a week after my interview, I got an email that seemed like an offer but it was missing key details like dates and the specific location. I asked for clarification, thinking it might be a technical issue. Then, 24 hours later, I received a generic rejection email. I emailed again to check if I actually had the job. The next day, another impersonal email arrived stating they had sent the offer by mistake and I was not hired. The interviewers were pleasant, but the aftermath has been a stressful and poorly managed experience, especially since I had turned down other job offers based on the initial 'offer'.

It felt like it went well, the interview setting was calm but I didn't get the job in the end. The interviewers were really nice and asked clear, direct questions. There were about 3 questions asked on the day, covering things like customer service skills, using your own initiative, and how you recognize good customer service.

Behavioral Group

It was a pretty standard interview process. You'll definitely need to know about customer service, and having supervisor experience is a big plus. The interview itself is quite short, lasting only about 20 to 30 minutes. They'll give you a tour of the store and introduce you to some of the team. This usually happens after the interview, but it really depends on who is conducting it.

  • What unique insights do you have about customer service that would make you a good supervisor in this field?

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

So, first off I sent in my application online, then a recruiter from HR gave me a ring. They asked about my background, what I'm qualified for, why I want this job, and what I expect salary-wise. After that, I had a chat over the phone or video, lasted about 30-45 mins, where we went over my resume, my skills, and why I wanna work here. Then came a more technical part to see how I solve problems and if I know the tools they use. For some roles, I had to code stuff, answer tech questions, or do a live task. For the really technical ones, we talked about system design. The next step was a behavioral interview, usually with a manager or HR, checking how I'd handle work stuff, if I'm a team player, and if I'd fit in culturally. Lastly, I had a final chat with a senior manager or team lead, mostly about how I'd fit in the team overall. After all the interviews, I heard back in about a week, and then got the offer if it all went well.
