Had a quick 10-30 min chat that felt pretty casual. Then they asked some scenario questions and wanted examples from my past jobs. After that, they showed me around the warehouse/shop and scanned my passport. Overall, it was super straightforward and the managers were really nice.

I applied online and the shop manager called me for an interview. I went there and everything seemed fine. They said they'd call me back in a week, but I had to call them myself two weeks later to find out they'd already offered the job to someone else. They didn't even bother to let me know I wasn't successful after I'd already spent my time and money going for the interview. Don't expect their selection process to be transparent like John Lewis or M&S. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all, and that's not just because they didn't pick me.

First, I had a phone chat where they asked me things like "why do you want this job?" Then I went for a second interview which was in a function room with around 30 other people. We were given 4 tasks to do that day, including making a Screwfix board game and answering "what would you do if in this situation?". They wanted to see who would stand out, judging us on personality and approachability. The interviews can vary, but this was my experience as they needed a few staff for their new store opening.
