I applied online on the Qatar Airways website and about six months later, I got a link to do an automated video interview using HireVue. A month after that, I had two rounds of in-person interviews. The first one was with a recruiter who was nice and made me feel comfortable. The second one was with the hiring manager for cosmetics, but it was a bit difficult because they spoke fast and had a strong accent, which made it hard to understand them. They also didn't make much eye contact. When I explained why I left my last job, they seemed unhappy with my answer and kept asking for more details, making me feel like they didn't believe me. The whole process was organized and took a reasonable amount of time, but the last interview made me question the company's professionalism and how they treat candidates.

I submitted my application online through the Qatar Airways careers site. It took about a month to hear back about scheduling an in-person interview. The interview itself was pretty standard, though I did notice they weren't great with timing. The interview started about 15 minutes late, which was inconvenient after I'd already made the trip. At the end, they said I'd get the results the following week, but that week came and went with no news. I had to reach out myself to find out the outcome, which only came after I followed up. So, while the interview content was fine, the constant delays and poor communication made it seem less professional.

The Assessment Day was like a big hotel ballroom thing, invite only. If your CV was good and you passed the first arm reach, you got invited. Then there was a separate English test, and they told you the results right there. If you passed that, you did some small talk called 'sentence shooting', another arm reach test, and a scar check. If you passed those, you were put in pairs for a public speaking task. Each pair got a picture and one person had to describe it, the other had to say a creative use for it. If you passed that, you were asked back another day for the final interview.

The interview for a food server is usually pretty simple. It's mostly about your personality, if you have the right experience, and if you can deal with customers well. You'll chat with a manager or supervisor for about 20-30 minutes. They'll ask about your past jobs, when you can work, and how you'd deal with tricky customers or stressful situations. To get ready, dress nicely, even if the job isn't fancy. Bring your resume and be prepared to talk about what you can do and how it matches what they're looking for. Make sure to mention how you can juggle tasks, interact with customers, and thrive in a busy place. Be specific about your skills, don't just say you're 'detail-oriented.' They want to see how well you communicate and handle stress. They're also curious about your customer service know-how and if you're a team player. Have your availability and any food service experience ready to discuss. The main thing is to show you're keen, professional, and a good fit for the job.
