Account Manager
I submitted my application online through the Qatar Airways careers site. It took about a month to hear back about scheduling an in-person interview. The interview itself was pretty standard, though I did notice they weren't great with timing. The interview started about 15 minutes late, which was inconvenient after I'd already made the trip. At the end, they said I'd get the results the following week, but that week came and went with no news. I had to reach out myself to find out the outcome, which only came after I followed up. So, while the interview content was fine, the constant delays and poor communication made it seem less professional.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What motivates your interest in Qatar Airways?
- Describe your strategy for account growth.
Account Manager
Applied in late January and heard back in late February for a Teams interview at the end of March. The whole process felt really slow and I wasn't sure what was going on. I applied for both Corporate and Offline Markets roles. Even though my background was stronger in corporate sales, they told me that position was already filled internally, which they should have said from the start. The role I interviewed for wasn't super clear - they just said 'Europe' which didn't give me much info about specific areas. The recruiter didn't give me a detailed job brief, making it hard to prepare. The interview itself was pretty disappointing. The 'hiring manager' seemed totally checked out, didn't even greet me properly or try to make me feel welcome. It was like they didn't want to be there, and their vibe made me doubt if they should be in charge of interviews. I've interviewed with top companies, and this was one of the least professional experiences I've had. If this is how Qatar Airways represents itself in London, it's not shocking that others have had similar negative feedback. I feel for anyone who has to work with that person. If I'd known the salary range upfront (which wasn't shared at all, but is on Glassdoor), I wouldn't have even applied. I value my time, and this whole thing felt like a total waste.
- When managing accounts across multiple regions or clients, what's your approach to prioritizing them?
Account Manager
I got an email asking me to do a video interview. They asked me 3 questions: why Qatar, why I am right for the position and what is my motivation for applying for the position. For each question, you will have time to record your answer, watch the video and redo it if you are not happy as many times as you want. At the end you can add a video presentation. So far, so good. Now I am waiting for the next step.
- Why are you interested in Qatar?
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
- What drives your interest in this opportunity?
