The hiring process was really all over the place and just not professional. The first call kept getting rescheduled, and they'd let me know super late. This kept happening with later interviews too. Then, one of the interviews got cancelled right before it was supposed to happen because they had already hired someone. This kind of disorganization makes it hard for people to want to work here. My advice is to make scheduling more reliable so candidates don't waste their time. Also, make sure everyone knows if a job is still open before you schedule more interviews for it.

So I applied for the L2 role, and went through all the interview stages. After the technical interview, the recruiter told me that they decided to move forward with another candidate for L2. However, they asked if I'd be interested in the L1 position instead, and said no further steps would be needed. I agreed, and was told the role would officially open in a week. After waiting, they needed more time to decide because another candidate was being considered. I waited longer, and was promised a decision by Monday. By the end of the day Monday, I was informed I didn't get the job. I was pretty disappointed because it took a long time, and I thought they were really interested in me. When I asked for feedback, the recruiter got defensive and seemed hostile. They suddenly brought up concerns about my commitment, saying I might leave within a year, which was never mentioned before. This whole experience felt really inconsistent and unprofessional. They offered an alternative role, said no more steps were needed, then delayed the decision, rejected me, and gave me aggressive, unexpected feedback. Honestly, I think I dodged a bullet. If this is how they treat candidates, I can't imagine how they treat employees.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Started with a recruiter screen, but the job duties didn't quite match the JD or what the hiring manager later described. I tried to bow out, but the recruiter pushed me to continue. Then, I had two 60-minute interviews. After getting the go-ahead, I was given a final project with a dataset and a bunch of objectives. The project felt like a lot to ask for without compensation. Plus, I had to present my analysis to a group: 30 minutes for the presentation and 30 minutes for Q&A. I put in a lot of effort on the analysis and deck, but was rejected without any feedback. They said another candidate was a better fit, and the job was reposted almost immediately. The process was fast though, which was good.

The whole interview process was smooth and fast. Everyone I met was friendly and professional. The recruiter was super helpful. Here's what I went through: First, I chatted with the Head of Design for an hour. Then, I had a case study interview, also for an hour. After that, there was a whiteboard challenge that lasted 1.5 hours. Next, I had shorter catch-ups with the VP of Design (30min), the CPO (30min), and the Director of Product (30min). Getting the final decision took a bit because it was around year-end, and decision-makers were swamped with holiday activities.
