First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OneAdvanced.
Digital Learning Specialist
Was first contacted by Michael Page recruiters about the position. The initial chat was nice, but then I got another call from them offering a different role the same day, which was odd. I continued with the main role. I then had a call with the learning director, who seemed enthusiastic about their goals. We had an online meeting to go over the job and what they hoped to achieve, and I thought it went well. I wasn't actively looking to move, but their vision was interesting enough to make me consider it. After the call, I heard nothing back from either Michael Page or OneAdvanced. I followed up once and was told the director was on vacation, but that was it. Honestly, I didn't like being left hanging with no feedback. You'd think for someone at this level, you'd get more from these companies. I won't be spending my time with them again, especially Michael Page.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Customer Service Representative
It was a pretty simple process. First, there was an online test, followed by a group interview where they looked at your individual and teamwork skills. Finally, there was a call test to see how you handled pressure from an unhappy customer.
- Complete a group task involving set team activities to demonstrate your teamwork capabilities.
- Participate in a call test designed to assess your response to pressure from an irate caller.
Product Manager
The interview process felt unfocused, with no specific questions asked, just a general chat. I got the vibe that there wasn't actually a job opening and they were trying to get information from me. It left me with the impression that this company is as toxic as described in reviews. I didn't get any feedback and was ghosted by the recruiter after I reached out for an update.
- I was asked to prepare a presentation, but it was a pointless exercise without a clear focus.
- General chat with no specific questions.
User Experience Designer
First, I had to do a CCAT Assessment. Then, about a week later, I had a Technical/Situational interview with the hiring manager, a senior UX designer, and the recruiter. The hiring manager was not aligned with the company's stated values. The senior UX designer seemed knowledgeable, and the recruiter was helpful. However, after the interview, I felt I wouldn't want to work with Advanced. This feeling was confirmed when I got a rude, offensive, and inaccurate feedback about my interview. While I understand rejection and value constructive feedback, especially given my career transition from architecture to UX, their feedback indicated a failure to grasp my background, and it was delivered rudely.
- Can you share an instance where you had to compromise on your design? Why do you think you are a good fit for this role? What is your go-to design methodology?
