First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IHG Hotels and Resorts.
Executive Management
I saw the role advertised publicly but had to wait quite a while for them to respond to my application. When they finally scheduled my in-person interview, they asked me entry-level questions, both from management and HR. It seemed like they hadn't even read my credentials. When I brought this up, they suggested that maybe the job title wasn't the right fit for what they were looking for. After that, they did a background check.
- Can you describe your understanding of customer satisfaction?
HR Generalist
Had a first round call with a recruiter, but technical issues made us reschedule, and they were super understanding. I got a rejection email, and when I followed up, they confirmed it was a mistake. We had a nice chat, and they were friendly and kept me updated on decisions. Unfortunately, I got another automated rejection before being told I wasn't moving forward, which was a bummer.
- Can you describe your experience in relation to the requirements of this position?
Financial Analyst
The process was pretty good, but they were overly positive and gave a lot of feedback between interviews. It would have been better if they hadn't been so positive and said everything was great, especially since the sr. Manager in the final interview said 'you nailed it, I give you green light,' making me think I'd get the job. Ultimately, I didn't, and I get that someone else was a better fit. But they should be more reserved with feedback to avoid getting people's hopes up prematurely.
- They sent me Home tasks
Cashier Barista
The interview process was thorough. They were looking for a good fit for their company culture. I guess I wasn't the right fit because I'm too thrifty and casual. They wanted someone more polished and professional. I got to the second part of the interview, but I really think they hired the girl after me because she looked super professional, very agreeable, and demure. She probably had good experience and could make a good cappuccino. She really sold herself well overall, and I'd be happy for her.
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
