Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IHG Hotels and Resorts.
Senior Manager
So the interview started with a quick call from the recruiter, just chatting about my background. Then, I had a Zoom chat with two senior folks from the team, and we mostly talked about what's happening in the industry.
- What are your favorite trends you've noticed in the American Luxury and Lifestyle space recently?
Management Trainee
So first we had a group discussion, then a personal interview, followed by an interview with the HOD. After that, there was another personal interview, then an interview with the department's HOD, and finally, a GM interview.
- Discuss in a group.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Interview with the HOD.
Manager
The hiring manager reached out for an initial 30-minute phone chat. Afterward, I got an email about a 1:1 interview scheduled for 5 days later. This was a panel interview with 5 managers who seemed to have divided the topics. One focused on my past experience, another on my people skills, and one presented a hypothetical situation needing a solution. The overall vibe was relaxed. Since I'm in the same industry, I could answer most business questions but struggled with the analytical parts.
- Which of your skills do you believe would best benefit our company?
