Digital Strategy Consultant
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. First, I had a call with the recruiter, who was really easy to talk to. After that, my resume went to the hiring manager, and then they set up a video interview for me, which happened within about two weeks.
- Regarding your compensation expectations, what do you have in mind?
- Could you give a summary of your overall background and experience?
- What specifically about this position caught your attention?
Marketing
The interview process was good and felt promising. The recruiter said they'd keep me updated but after my second follow up, they've gone completely silent. It's really disappointing because I spent days preparing and put all my effort in. You'd think a hospitality company would at least have the courtesy to update candidates or send a rejection. It's unacceptable and sad.
- Can you share some of your past experiences and any challenges you faced?
Guest Service Representative
Even though I wasn't totally prepped, I think I did pretty well in my interview. I talked to one person, but it felt like I was supposed to talk to two, the department manager and the director of operations, which didn't happen, but I'm not mad about it. They asked me some general questions, like if I had prior experience in customer service, how I deal with challenging guests, and about my strengths and weaknesses. The manager focused on my experience in fast-paced settings and handling difficult guests, especially considering the hotel has thousands of rooms and hosts over 300 events annually. They were pretty quick to let me know if I got the offer, and I started my first day at Hyatt about a week later.
- Have you worked in a high-pace environment?
- What has been the most difficult situation you have handled on your own?
- Are you a team player?
Product Manager
It was a typical 4 step Interview process. First HR, then Hiring Manager, then design/dev leads and then VP level. Interviews themselves went well, but VERY little communication in between interviews from Hyatt HR. I had to follow-up. I then heard NOTHING after the 4th interview; absolutely NOTHING. Very disappointing as I would have thought their would have been some kind of respect and common curiosity to at least reach out letting me know I didn't receive the job. Had I known this was the culture of the company during my 1st interview, I would have never wasted my time and proceeded. If candidates aren't respected, then why would employees be?!?
- Can you tell me your motivation for wanting to join Hyatt?
