First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hyatt.
Sales Assistant
I had two interviews. The questions were pretty general. Three people interviewed me – two at once, and then the department manager separately. I also got a tour of the property and met the staff. Since I was a recent grad with no hotel experience, I didn't get the job. The sales manager suggested I apply again later once I've gained some experience.
- Regarding pursuing an account, how would you prioritize potential clients?
Sales Assistant
I put in my application online and heard back maybe two weeks later. The first step was a phone interview with two sales managers, and the next day I got an email saying they wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. The in-person interview was actually pretty chill, even though I talked with two different sets of sales assistants and managers. Everyone seemed really nice and genuine. They were really just trying to find the right person for the job.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in the hotel industry?
- And what makes you want to work for Hyatt specifically?
- Could you go over your previous experience with me?
Sales Representative
First, they ask you some questions about yourself, they ask you to describe yourself, they also ask you to describe what you can bring to Hyatt and where you have worked. Also, they ask you to describe yourself as a person, what you can do, in what area you would like to be, etc.
- What could you contribute to Hyatt?
