First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at House of Fraser.
Sales Associate
It was a straightforward interview for a retail position. The interview itself was easy, and I got the job. I worked there for the summer and enjoyed it. The process mainly involved basic competency questions.
- Tell me about your past experience.
- What makes you a good fit for this position?
Sales Assistant
The interview process was pretty straightforward and didn't take too long. First, they checked my documents and made sure I could legally work in the UK. Then, they asked me about my availability and past experience. After that, they wanted to know what I thought should be the top priority for this role and why, and also ran through some practice scenarios with me.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- What availability do you have?
- What do you think is most important to focus on in this job, and explain why?
Sales Assistant
We had a group interview where we all went around the table, introduced ourselves, and talked about our backgrounds. Everyone was asked really good questions. I was told I'd hear back within a week, but it's been a while since the interview and I still haven't heard anything. I did reach out for an update, but got no response.
- Can you explain what teamwork is and how you'd define it?
Department Manager
The interview process was pretty relaxed since they reached out to me. It felt like a mutual pitch. I had to do a SWOT analysis for the store and show my understanding of commercial awareness, leadership skills, performance, KPIs, and WoW/YoY metrics.
- How do you motivate and keep your team excited?
- Can you perform a SWOT analysis for the store?
- How do you show commercial awareness?
