I've only just done the online video interview and although it was nerve wrecking, I think I did alright. There were 5 questions in total (listed below). you are given 10 seconds to read the question and then 90 seconds to answer it. YOU ONLY GET 1 TRY TO ANSWER. Prior to the video interview you should revise and then practise the questions that will be asked. Do not waffle on when answering them, your answers should be roughly a minute long and try to get key details in them. Around 5 minutes after I did the online video interview, I received a call inviting me to an assessment centre. The overall process, for me, took 4 days.
- Can you tell me about your current or previous role?
- What defines VIP customer service?
- What skills do you possess?

I applied online via the HOF website and a few hours later was invited to do an online video interview, which was kinda weird but I guess it worked. For the video interview, I really suggest using an iPad or tablet since you can record your answer for each question as many times as you want, but on a laptop you only get one try for each. I was asked five questions that were pretty easy. Then I got an email saying they liked me and wanted me to come in for a group interview. The actual interview was fun and super easy because it was pretty informal, but you still have to dress formally. First, we had to introduce ourselves with a fun fact and an icebreaker, which was making a story using two cards they give you (object and celebrity), like Teacup and Jay Z. It was a bit nerve-racking because you had to do it standing up in front of everyone, but it went okay. We were split into smaller groups and given the task of finding a gift/outfit for a customer using a scenario. This had to be justified and presented to everyone. The recruiters then took each of us for one-to-one interviews where we were asked three questions. This was also easy and the interviewers were chill and made you feel relaxed. The interview then ended and we were escorted out. The whole process was pretty fast and easy, but I was put into a "talent pool." This is for candidates they really like but don't have a role that fits their timing. I got the answer pretty quickly, so a couple days after the interview. Overall a great experience.
- Part-time or full-time, which do you prefer?
- Could you explain what VIP service entails?
- Can you tell me about your current or previous role?

To work for House of Fraser there are three stages. The first stage is an online application and a test. The test has situational questions about customers and retail, and it's easy. If you do well, you get an email asking you to record a video interview on their website. I messed up this part. The video interview has about five questions. You see the questions for ten seconds and have 90 seconds to record your answer. I really suggest practicing the questions on Glassdoor, or you might get stressed and mess up, like I did, which is why I didn't get an offer.
