First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gucci.
Client Services Advisor
The interview process I experienced only had two rounds: a video call with the recruiter for basic screening and then the actual job interview with the hiring manager. The interviewer was one of the Client Services managers at our office, who was great, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He even turned on his camera to show me the actual office/working environment I would be in. He also told me the number of candidates being considered for the job and that I was one of the first to be interviewed. I'm not sure if other employers do this, but I haven't experienced this kind of transparency before in other hiring processes. There were a few standard, straightforward questions.
- What is your biggest weakness?
- Tell me about your past sales experience.
- Have you ever engaged in theft at a previous workplace?
Facilities Coordinator
I only had 2 contacts. A first one on the phone where they asked general info about my personal and university background and my interest in the position. I only had a first video call interview because I wasn't hired, where they asked in detail the info given on the phone. They talked about their work experience at Gucci, how it's structured. They seemed like a good company. They were supposed to let me know the feedback within a week but I didn't receive it. I wrote them an email and they told me that unfortunately they had selected another candidate.
- Which university did you attend? Tell me about your projects.
Data Scientist
There was an initial technical test which was an individual practical exercise. It involved building a predictive model using a fake dataset provided by the company on their platform, and there was a time limit. Then, there was an HR interview, which was an introductory chat with the HR team. Finally, there was an in-depth technical interview with the Data Science team Manager. A positive aspect was receiving prompt and very detailed feedback after each step.
- The final interview was technically challenging. I was asked to prepare and present a Data Science project I had personally managed end-to-end, focusing on the value and results achieved through slides.
- Explain the end-to-end process of a Data Science project you've worked on, highlighting its value and outcomes.
- Present a project you completed, detailing the steps taken and the impact it had.
Sales Associate
We will start by asking you some standard questions about your past experience, strengths, and weaknesses. Then, we will move on to situational questions, and discuss your sales experience and numbers, as well as your commission structure. We will also ask about your background in retail and customer service experience. Finally, we want to understand your knowledge of the brand and luxury fashion, how you align with the company's mission and values, and how you would contribute to the store environment.
- Could you elaborate on your past retail experience? Which specific past roles align with this position?
- Could you describe a tough situation you encountered in a prior job and explain how you dealt with it?
