First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GE Aerospace.
Defense & Systems Strategy Analyst
I started with a quick recruiter call, pretty standard stuff. Then I had a round with the actual team I'd be joining. They mostly asked about my past experience and data analytics skills. At the end, they told me I was a finalist and that they'd be in touch soon. But then, like, two months went by with no word, and the job listing just disappeared from Workday. It's really unprofessional and unacceptable to get ghosted by a big company like GE Aerospace.

Edison Engineering Development Program
The Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) at GE Aerospace is a selective, rotational leadership program aimed at fast-tracking your career through technical training like the Advanced Course in Engineering and impactful assignments. The interview process is thorough, with a strong emphasis on leadership qualities and core technical knowledge. It generally involves an online test, followed by a technical interview, and then an HR round, though the exact sequence might differ slightly depending on the location.
- Can you discuss stress concentration based on your resume?
- Tell me about your experience with Strength of Materials (SoM) as seen on your resume.
- What can you tell me about fracture mechanics from your resume?
Software Engineer Intern
overall it was pretty good, the interview process was smooth, and I had chill conversations with the interviewers, they were very nice. they were slow with replies and I did not get much feedback. it was one of the better experiences but I do wish they tested my technical skills more, I only ran through some basic python scripts. they had lots of applications so I don’t know how they differentiated people.
- Can you walk me through your resume?

The timeline for this process was way too long, taking multiple weeks which makes me think they don't focus on time-to-fill metrics. Also, there were too many interviewers who weren't decision-makers, suggesting a lack of alignment with their own lean model. The interviewers seemed unorganized and not on the same page regarding the role, location, or who the role supports. My advice is to get everyone aligned before multiple interview rounds and downselect candidates faster, as there's no point in multiple interviews if an offer won't be extended. They seem very cost-conscious, which concerns me about internal talent being underpaid but preferred due to lower wage increases compared to external candidates. On the plus side, everyone I interacted with, from the recruiter to the interviewers, was pleasant and down-to-earth, which was a refreshing change from a hostile previous company. The recruiter and scheduler were organized, providing a clear timetable with names, titles, times, and links. The questions asked were thoughtful, though I would have preferred more back-and-forth and deeper dives into my responses. Prepping a lot definitely helped.
