Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GE Aerospace.
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward and typical. The interviewer was great at responding and easy to communicate with. They asked a mix of questions about my past experiences and hypothetical situations, specifically inquiring about my background in CAD and manufacturing, and also posing questions like 'if you were in x situation'.
- Can you describe your experience with 3D modeling?
Process Engineer
The directions to the parking were confusing, sending us to the wrong lot. After signing in at the gate, HR took our paperwork for two minutes before we went to another gate for the interviews. There was no intro about who we'd meet or their roles. The actual HR interview was by phone, but the number was incorrect. I think I was rejected during that phone interview because I was asked a really silly question, and then things really went downhill. They didn't contact me formally for four weeks.
- What advice would you offer to the managers setting up the operation?
Manufacturing Engineer
I applied and interviewed for a different but similar rotational position which then ended up merging with MEDP. After the merge was confirmed, I moved on to interview with MEDP. I had a total of 3 interviews: a 1:1 with the assignment leader, then their team, and finally the MEDP program director. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes over video call, but ended up being only 30 minutes. They asked a mix of cultural and technical questions, and I had time for my questions at the end. It was a very conversational and easy-going interview with some casual discussion between questions. The interviewer seemed to want to gauge if I was a culture match and had a demonstrated interest in manufacturing. I got an offer the same week.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What would you say are your weaknesses?
- Describe a technical project that influenced your career aspirations.
