Technical Case

Faire will give you a multi-hour test to check your experience. The test will ask for a detailed plan/strategy on a complex issue, wanting experienced insights and answers. After that, another interview will go over your answers and any additional questions they have. Within a week, they will let you know the position was taken down. They should have let me know beforehand instead of making me take a multi-hour test. Thanks for wasting my time. This should be illegal. Other companies pay applicants for test hours, which is fair and considerate. Faire does not live up to its name. Run away if they contact you.

Coding Technical

I applied online and had a phone screen with the recruiter. After that, I did a technical interview on CoderPad. They sent a prep guide that was 18 pages long, mostly about graphs and topological sort (like the Alien Dictionary problem) and basic data structures, mentioning arrays. But the actual interview was about interval scheduling using sweep line algorithms, which was way more advanced than what the prep guide covered. It wasn't basic array stuff at all. I didn't know the pattern, and even with hints, their explanations weren't clear. They asked if I had questions with 5 minutes left instead of letting me finish. I got rejected soon after. The prep material didn't match the actual test, so I couldn't show what I know.

  • Tell me about interval scheduling.
  • Explain sweep line algorithms.

Behavioral Other

I had a recruiter screen and then a hiring manager screen. I didn't make it past the hiring manager screen. The HM screen was behavioral, asking about my past experience and general interview questions. The role wasn't a great fit for me anyway, so I didn't mind it ending there. The recruiting process was a bit confusing: one recruiter reached out, another scheduled the interview, and then a random person sent the rejection email. It felt weird. They tried to make the rejection seem personal, but it was boilerplate and coming from someone random made it confusing. The hiring manager was great though, I enjoyed talking with him.

There were quite a few rounds, but everyone I spoke with was super approachable and easy to talk to. Honestly, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had. I met with people from the direct team and also with stakeholders. The process was pretty standard: recruiter call first, then a hiring manager interview, followed by a virtual "on-site" where I did live coding, answered situational questions, and discussed culture fit. It ended with a final interview with an executive.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • How would you handle specific Salesforce situations and what would be your approach to resolving them?
  • Could you complete a live coding challenge?
  • How would you engage with me and my team if you were hired, given your experience working with similar groups?
