The interview process started with an online test on SHL. After that, there were 5 panels for the interview. It wasn't too difficult, but they really focused on good communication skills. They asked questions related to CN, DBMS, SQL, and DSA.

First, we took a challenging but fair aptitude test to see if we had the right problem-solving and thinking skills. If you passed that, you went on to two technical interviews that really dove into different areas of expertise and practical know-how. The interviewers were really detailed but also made it feel comfortable to show off what you could do. Then, there was a final HR interview, which was a nice change of pace. The HR people were really friendly and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us, and they patiently answered any questions we had and made sure we understood everything. The whole process felt organized and open, and it was clear they cared about us candidates. They even gave us feedback on how we did, pointing out our strengths and where we could improve. It was a good experience overall, and it seemed like they really wanted to find good people and create a team environment.

I was contacted on LinkedIn and the interview was quickly scheduled for the same week with HR and the hiring manager. They said they'd get back to me in a week, but after that week, I saw they reopened the position on LinkedIn. Even worse, almost 3 months later, I got an automated email saying the position was canceled. Such a lack of respect, and I'm glad I didn't end up working for that company.

Technical Coding

I interviewed for a Site Reliability Engineer (Security) role. The hiring manager was good, but the technical interview wasn't great. A lot of the technical questions didn't seem related to the job or were just confusing instead of testing my skills. It felt like maybe it wasn't about finding the best person, but more about making it hard for people who aren't already connected. As someone who knows their stuff, it was frustrating. If you're thinking about applying, especially if you're not part of certain circles, be ready for it to feel potentially unfair. It's a shame in 2025 when inclusivity and actual skills should be what matters most. The hiring manager was great though and represented the company well, but the technical part made me wonder about Equifax's commitment to diversity and real expertise.
