Docebo Interview Questions
& Process

I went through a 4-step interview process which included an HR screen, a hiring manager interview, a mock discovery session, and a meeting with the VP of sales. I also had an informal chat with a current AE. The whole thing took a little over 5 weeks from start to finish. Dylan from HR was great, he talked about my experience and why I was interested in Docebo, and laid out the hiring steps. Christian, the hiring manager, asked about my motivations and thought processes and explained some challenges of the role, like the learning curve and proving value. The mock discovery was with three managers (Christian, Scott, and Matt) and focused on my ability to gather info from a prospect, with constructive feedback provided. Juan, the VP of sales, had a conversational chat about my background and motivations, and discussed the company culture and the need for adaptability. Lastly, I talked to Madi, a current AE, who shared her experiences, what she likes about Docebo, the role's challenges, and the team's supportive nature.

It was a 3 round process. First was HR, then the hiring manager, and finally a team interview that included a presentation. HR focused on behavioral questions. The manager's interview was more about assessing fit and previous experience. For the final stage, they provided a scenario for which a presentation was required.

It started with a recruiter call, then I spoke with the EMEA Marketing Director. After that, I had a call with two Marketing peers where they asked a lot of questions. The next step was a business case. It was a practical topic where I had to build and present my global marketing plan. I had to consider the current market and how to compete with the company's top competitors, whose names Docebo provided for research. Finally, if selected, I received an offer.

So, I had several video calls with the team, they even reached out to me. The experience felt good because they saw I had the right abilities and soft skills they were looking for, and the interviewers were friendly, we got along well. However, they ended up choosing someone else. When I asked for feedback, they said I should 'look happier next time, we thought you weren't interested enough'. I couldn't believe it! I felt I showed the complete opposite and the interviewers even agreed and acknowledged my relevant experience. So, I reapplied months later when the job opened up again because they suggested I try again. This time, they rejected me without any interview opportunity. The automated email said they selected candidates with more experience. I'm the experienced one, and the job post even mentioned training was provided and no specific skills were required. This time I didn't even negotiate salary, they could have made an offer. Honestly, Docebo, either be upfront with feedback (like you don't have the experience, want too much money, or are too old) or at least make up a more believable reason. It was incredibly disappointing and discouraging. This was the opportunity I had been waiting for my whole life, and it slipped away due to a lack of genuine communication from the hiring team.
