First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DHL Supply Chain.
Operations Intern
It was a really warm and welcoming interview. For the DHL Operations Intern role, they usually ask questions about your behavior, hypothetical situations, and things related to supply chain. They really want to see how well you work in a team, how you solve problems, and if you're genuinely interested in logistics and operations. You might need to talk about past experiences using the STAR method, define simple supply chain ideas like bottlenecks or KPIs, and talk about how you'd deal with warehouse issues like delays or safety. They're also looking for good communication, being detail-oriented, and having a desire to learn. Since DHL has big distribution centers, showing you get efficiency, continuous improvement, and data analysis can make you stand out. Basically, they're checking your work ethic, how you think analytically, and your ability to help with operational performance.
- What actions would you take if a shipment experienced a delay?
Inside Sales Executive
It was a three step process; two calls over the phone and one in person (they covered my expenses). The guidelines were pretty straightforward. They really wanted to know why I was interested in DHL and why I thought I was a good fit, and how I'd handle cold calling.
- What makes you the ideal candidate for us?
- Why are you interested in working for DHL?
- Explain why you are a suitable candidate for this position.
Operations Associate
So the process is pretty standard. You apply online, then there's an initial HR call. After that, you'll have one or more interviews, either virtual or in person, with the hiring managers. They'll be asking a lot of behavioral questions and situational stuff, like how you'd handle certain scenarios. It's really about seeing if you're good with customer service, speak English well, and for remote roles, if you can handle working from home.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to get past a challenge?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
The hiring process took place over 3 stages, starting with an HR interview and then moving on to management interviews. It felt like a good amount of time passed between stages, and the interviews were focused on assessing my skills. I appreciated that they took the time to inform me about the company culture and its objectives, and to ensure that our values aligned, especially regarding how we approach talent acquisition and recruitment. I really liked the emphasis on people and proximity leadership, which is what made me genuinely interested in joining.
- Can you describe your level of enjoyment in performing this job?
