Operations Manager
The interview process with DHL was a bit rough, mainly because it felt like hiring was done locally and it was hard to get answers. There were times when team members were on vacation, leading to week-long waits for replies. You'd think a big company like DHL would have a better system for handing off cases, but it seemed quite old-fashioned. When the offer came, it was just a quick "congrats" and a promise to call the next Monday. That call didn't happen for two weeks, and I had to bring up that we hadn't even discussed the job details or the offer. It was sorted out the morning of the site tour, but even then, the job and hours discussed in the meeting weren't what I interviewed for, and the recruiter hadn't made it clear over the phone. The interview started with a phone call asking for a summary of my previous role, which then led to a group interview day. This day included two group exercises, a competency-based interview with two managers, and a presentation on managing KPIs within a team.

Operations Manager
I got a call from Exel, an HR rep found my resume online and she was great. I interviewed with a senior Ops Manager. Before that, I met with the general HR manager and we chatted about my resume. He was chill and let me show off my skills. Then I met the senior Ops Mgr. He asked me to walk through my resume from the start. Right after, he asked me some STAR questions, they were pretty basic and made it easy to talk about what they needed. The interview was about an hour. I followed up with an email and heard back in about a day. I was asked to interview with the General Mgr. About a week later, I interviewed with him. It was informal and comfortable too. He listened to my pitch and then asked some general leadership questions. That interview was also about an hour. Everyone was really friendly. I emailed the managers again and waited. About a week passed, I followed up again and they said they'd decide by the end of the week. The week ended with no offer. The job was taken off their website, so I thought I didn't get it. Two days later, I got the offer. The offer is mailed, so you can't really negotiate unless you counter formally. Overall, it was a great process and I liked the company and people. Can't wait to start.

Operations Manager
I applied for three jobs, one a month ago and two more recently. Around the time of the third application, they called me about the first position, asking about my salary expectations. After I told them, they said they'd get back to me, but never did. Two weeks later, on a Friday afternoon, they called again, said they had my resume, and asked if I could come in the following Monday. I went, but wasn't told which job I was interviewing for. When I got there, the office was half empty and there was no receptionist. I went into an office, explained I was there for an interview, and was told to wait in the lobby. After 30 minutes, someone came to get me. Four people interviewed me. They introduced themselves by name but not their titles. They asked me questions for about 20 minutes. Then, someone I assume was HR asked about my salary requirements. I told them my last salary, and there was an awkward silence. One interviewer mentioned the job didn't pay that much, saying "not even the GM's get paid that much." I then asked what position I was interviewing for, and they said Operations Manager, but they were also looking for someone for another role that paid even less. When asked if I had questions, I did, and they answered. Then one of them said, "well that's it." I got up, they shook hands, and then sat back down. I stood there for a moment, then turned around and walked out.
