Technical Coding

After clearing the aptitude round which was of moderate difficulty requiring speed and accuracy, shortlisted students moved to the technical round. The interviewer was friendly and primarily asked about my background, projects, and fundamental concepts in SQL, OOP, and DBMS. They also posed some problem-solving and logical puzzles, emphasizing conceptual understanding over rote memorization.

Behavioral Technical

I went through 4 interviews in total. First, there was an HR interview which lasted about an hour, where I was asked a lot about my past behavior and how I've solved problems in previous research teams. Then, I had 3 technical interviews, though only one was really intense, lasting about an hour. This one really dove deep into the scientific topics relevant to the role. It's worth noting that each manager has a different approach, and this process was specific to my manager and the position.

Behavioral Technical Other

It was a 5-stage process. First, I had an interview with the talent recruiter. They ask about your experiences and motivations, and if they think you fit the profile, you move on. Second, an interview with the team manager. This is a conversation about the candidate, but they also explain how the team works, and it's a great chance to ask questions. The third step was another chat with the talent manager, who asked more in-depth questions than the first interview. Then, they asked me to do an English test before a final interview with the sales director.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you detail your professional experiences and the metrics you used to achieve, as well as what was expected in previous jobs?
  • Were you comfortable going into the office at least 3 days a week, as it's mandatory?

Technical Coding Presentation

The interview has four parts: first, a 30 min screening call, then a 60 min remote interview with technical management, after that a timed online coding assessment, and last, an on-site day where you have to do a presentation. The coding test was like LeetCode on a third-party site, with algorithm problems and some multiple choice questions. It didn't really seem to relate to the job description's tech stack, so maybe practice general algorithms and problem-solving. I didn't get selected to move on after the technical assessment. No feedback was given during the four weeks, and they didn't reply when I asked for it. It was a long process, but it was organized. Just know they care a lot about algorithms, not so much about practical framework knowledge, and you might not get feedback.

  • Can you solve algorithm puzzles similar to Fizz Buzz?
